How Residential Works
Collection
Photovoltaic (PV) panels collect the sun’s energy (DC) and transport it to the microinverters to become (AC) for use in residences.
Conversion
The inverters transform the energy from direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC) power for your residential use.
Delivery
AC power is delivered to the building’s electrical box. Power is either used by the building or sent through the net meter to the utility grid.
Net Metering
The difference between the electricity generated by your solar system and what you consume is the amount for which you are charged or credited on your bill.

Solar + Storage
Atlasta Solar Center provides homeowners with solar + storage solutions for battery backup power during grid outages, for self consumption, or for time of use billing. Time of use billing is where the cost of power changes depending on the time of day. These rates are typically on-peak and off-peak. Off-peak kilowatt hours are used or produced during the day and on-peak kilowatt hours are typically billed at a higher rate in the mornings or evenings. Where batteries come in is you charge the batteries with the cheap electricity from your solar during the day and use the power when the cost of electricity goes up. This is called “rate arbitrage” and will greatly increase the payback of your solar system when your utility changes to time of use rates.

REAP Grants
The USDA Renewable Energy for America (REAP) grant covers 50% of the total project cost for eligible businesses. Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, advantages include:
Grant increased from 25% to 50% of total cost.
Federal Tax Credit increased to 30%.
Additional +10% Energy Community Tax Credit (in specific areas).
Additional +10% Domestic Content Bonus.
